Georgia-Azerbaijan town to be built in Batumi: Georgian president

"I hope Batumi will become attractive resort for Azerbaijani tourists," Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said during a visit to Ajaria with the first Baku-Batumi flight together with Azerbaijani guests.

The projects to be implemented jointly with Azerbaijani investors in Batumi will contribute to it, Saakashvili said.

He said the two countries have already reached an agreement to build Georgia-Azerbaijan town in Batumi where Azerbaijani investors will build a hotel.

"Batumi will be favorite town not only for Georgians, but also for foreign guests. We will do our utmost to achieve our goal," Saakashvili said.

Azerbaijan Airways will launch Baku-Tbilisi-Batumi-Tbilisi-Baku flight on June 1.

The flight will be realized twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. The flights will be carried out by ATR planes of French production.

One way ticket costs 219 manat and return ticket 414 manat.
