Over 80,000 manat-fine imposed on violators of consumers' rights in Azerbaijan

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry continues monitoring to reveal facts of violation of consumers' rights in Baku and the country's regions, the ministry said on June 9.

The next monitoring was held in the Sabail, Binagadi and Nasimi Districts of Baku, as well as in Guba.

The monitoring revealed and withdrew roughly 400 kilogram of the expired food (juice, confectionary, sausages, butter, cheese and others) from sale. All products have been burnt. Protocols on administrative violations have been set toward two enterprises and four individuals.

Totally, after the Azerbaijani president's decree on changing and amending the Administrative Violations Code on May 17, 9 enterprises have been fined worth 32,500 manat and 34 individuals - worth 51,500 manat. 

On June 9, the official exchange rate is 0.8039 manat to $1.
