Heads of Turkmen regions assured that all crops will be gathered without losses in response to remarks of the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, national TV channel Altin Asir reported on June 9.
Berdimuhamedov called heads of Turkmen local administrations for taking all necessary actions to gather full harvest of wheat.
Plan of grain gathering hits 1.6 million tons in 2008. Roughly 1 million ton of grain was gathered in 2008. Sowing areas hit over 900,000 hectares of land. Central Asian country fully depended on import of grain during Soviet period. Over 70,000 tons were gathered in local terms.
Special meeting was dedicated to harvesting work. Berdimuhamedov called corresponding structures for calculating of grain from fields for storages and elevators. He paid attention to importance of in time calculations with agricultural producers, provision of uninterrupted work of combine harvesters, operative provision with spare parts and fuels and lubricants.
