National grain company Food Contract Corporation JSC intends to buy up to 1 million ton of grain on domestic market, national company department on foreign activity director Daulet Uvashev said.
Food Corporation will begin to buy surplus of grain on domestic market to support agricultural producers in the nearest 2-3 days. Agricultural producers need funds for spring field operations and gathering of next new harvest," Uvashev said.
Representative of national company said that agricultural producers have difficulties with getting cash for grain because of world financial crisis and price-dropping for grain.
"Food Corporation intends to buy roughly 1 million ton of grain. All this is done to support individuals of agro industrial complex of Kazakhstan," he said.
But representative of Food Corporation refused to call price at which national company intends to buy grain from agricultural producers in 2009.
"I can not call price as final decision was not made," he said.
