Baku metro will pass to automation system of passenger service soon, Baku metro head Tagi Ahmedov said at the press-conference in headquarter of New Azerbaijan Party on July 3.

"Full automation of service will occur as a result of purchase of additional 50 cash-machines in the first decade of August," Ahmedov said.

New apparatus will be placed in all stations except for Bakmil and Jafar Jabbarli serving 700-800 passengers per week, he said.

Baku metro serves 600,000 passengers per day, he said.

Tagiyev said that Baku metro closed staff of new cashiers from July 1. Old employees will not be dismissed.
