WCO decides to set up regional office on Europe in Azerbaijan

Decision on opening of regional office on World Customs Organization potential strengthening on Europe in Azerbaijan was made during 113-th and 114-th sessions of Customs Cooperation Council of WCO held in Brussels, information of press-service of customs committee published in Gomruk departmental newspaper said.
Regular meeting of Customs Council session was held in Brussels's headquarter of World Customs Organization from June 25-27. Azerbaijani delegation headed by chairman of Azerbaijani State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev participated in the session.
During the visit Aliyev exchanged opinions with WCO secretary general Kunio Mikuriya concerning opening of regional office in Baku.
Project of the memorandum on work of regional office, as well as construction project of a new building in Baku were discussed and approved at the meeting with WCO deputy chairman on European region Josefina Fihili, directorate head on potential strengthening Lars Karlson and deputy directorate Valery Mikeladze. As a result of meetings it was made a decision about construction of building in the nearest future.
