The Azerbaijani ministry of culture and tourism suspended activity of 60 hotels in Azerbaijan operating without license, the Azerbaijani minister of culture and tourism Abulfaz Garayev said on July 8.
"These tourist objects will not resume their activity by late summer," minister said.
Tourist objects can resume their activity after having corresponding documentation, he said.
Roughly 250 hotels operate in Azerbaijan upon license. The department also considers 60 bids regarding getting licenses, minister said.
Roughly 70 hotels getting stars operate in Azerbaijan, minister said. Two hotels operating in resort zone Nabran applied to the ministry to get stars.
