In January - June 2009 the amount of industrial production in Azerbaijan composed 9.3 billion manat, which is 1% more than the same period of 2008, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
The amount of production in the extractive industry increased 2.6% and was 6.69 billion manat (71.8% of the gross industrial production), but the growth rate in the processing industry declined 8.2% and was 1.999 billion manat (21.5%), and in power engineering, gas and water sectors - 625.4 million, a decrease of 6.1% (6.7%).
The growth in the oil production was 2.5%, in gas production - 1.7%, but a 10.5% reduction was recorded in oil refining.
The specific weight of the industrial production and services in the private sector made up 77.3% (7.2 billion manat). Growth in the private sector was 3%, but a -5.3% reduction was recorded in the public sector.
