Representatives of the Russian major companies arrived in Ashgabat to participate in a business forum. The companies expressed their willingness to enlarge their presence in Turkmen market and to take an active part in quite a number of projects, the Turkmen media informed.
The business forum will focus on fuel and energy complex, on the potash fertilizer production, on telecommunication and communication, as well as on high technologies.
The Russian-Turkmen Business Council (RTBC) is headed by deputy chairman of the RTBC under the Russian chamber of commerce and industry Nina Levshina. The delegation includes representatives of the RosKon, Stroygasmontazh open joint-stock company (OJSC), Konvers- Mil OJSC, Inspacetelecom and other Russian companies, Turkmen state news agency said.
The Russian- Turkmen business council was established in 2007 and the Turkmen-Russian business council was established in late 2008.
The opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation was discussed as part of the negotiations at ministries of the oil and gas industry and mineral resources, the railway transport, the automobile transport, the commerce and foreign economic relations, construction, the construction materials industry and communication.
Participants of the forum examined the implementation of the existing agreements, discussed partnership, particularly, cooperation in arrangement of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) forum on agriculture producers which is scheduled for 2009 in Ashgabat.
