The EU denies that it will reduce aid to Georgia. According to the European Commission in Georgia, the EC will grant Georgia aid to the amount of €500 million to support economic stability and revival.
Georgia has already received aid to the amount of €165 million as a grant in 2008. Georgia expects to receive aid to the amount of €150 million in 2009.
The EU decided to allocate aid to the amount of €500 million to Georgia after the Georgian-Russian war in August 2008.
Information implies that the EU aid may have to be reduced due to the world financial crisis. The allocation of a major sum will be postponed till 2010.
