Georgian foreign trade turnover reduces more than 37 percent for first six months

Georgian foreign trade turnover hits $2.51 billion in January-June. This index 37.2 percent less than similar period of 2008, statistical department said.

Export hits $515.1 million of total volume of foreign trade turnover within reporting period but import - $1 billion 992.5 million.

Negative trade balance hits $1.48 billion. Georgia has negative balance with 95 countries. Trade deficit with them hits $1.56 billion. It has positive balance exceeding $1 million with four countries - Canada (48.4 million), Armenia (15 million), Bulgaria (8.3 million and Iraq (5.9 million).
