Georgia, EU signs agreement on border cooperation program of Black Sea countries

Georgia and the European Commission signed an agreement on border cooperation program of Black Sea countries. First Prime Minister, Georgian State Minister on European reintegration Georgi Baramidze and European mission acting head in Georgia Robin Libel signed this agreement on July 30 in Tbilisi.

Under the agreement, 10 member-countries, including Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Rumania, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia, will receive assistance worth €17 million.

Assistance to tourism, protection of nature, development of agriculture and cooperation in culture and education are the main priorities of the program, Baramidze said.

The non-governmental organizations which found partners in other member-countries and developed proposals on projects have been determined in the current stage.
