The volume of work of all Azerbaijani construction companies amounted to 1.886 billion manat in January-August, the state statistics committee said.
About 1271.1 million manat (67.4 percent) of total construction work fell to primary operations, renovation and expansion; 384.8 million manat (20.4 percent) to basic repair work; 94.3 million manats (5 percent) to the current repair work; 135.8 million manat (7.2 percent) to other construction work.
During this period, construction work amounting to 135.4 million manat was conducted by private construction companies, but 533.6 million manat by state ones.
According to the committee, the average monthly nominal wage of workers in construction sector amounted to 447.6 manats, but 499.2 manats in large and medium construction companies in the first half of 2009.
In January-June of 2009, large and medium-sized construction companies have spent about 1.0665 billion manat on the construction and 58.6 percent of this amount fell to material costs, 10.5 percent - payment of employees, 1.6 percent - the depreciation of fixed assets, 2.2 percent - payroll taxes and 27.1 percent - other expenses.
