The Turkmen government and Russia's northern capital of St. Petersburg will hold negotiations on trade and economic cooperation on Sept. 28.
St. Petersburg's Governor Valentina Matvienko will pay a visit to Ashgabat. Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov will receive the delegation including both leadership of St. Petersburg and heads of the largest state-owned enterprises and famous Russian companies, the governmental press-service said.
The meeting with the relevant Turkmen agencies will focus on details of the projects on creation of modern road and transport infrastructure in Ashgabat and delivery of modern high-tech equipment for various sectors of the Turkmen economy. The meeting will also review the implementation of previous agreements.
Berdimuhammedov's visit to St. Petersburg in March, 2009, as part governmental visit to Russia, gave the dynamics to relations with the North-West Federal District of Russia.
