Azerbaijan, Baku, October 2 / Trend U. Ismayilova /

About 75,000-76,000 tons of agricultural production were sold at agricultural fairs held in Baku every Saturday and Sunday, deputy minister of agriculture, Ilham Guliyev, said at a press-conference on October 2.

"Totally, 337 fairs have been held up to now," deputy minister said.

He said that agricultural production is sold at these fairs 20-30 percent sometimes 50 percent cheaper that usually on different markets.

"The ministry constantly holds monitoring to control prices for agricultural production sold at fairs. In case of necessity their increase is prevented," Guliyev said.

Fairs have been held since 2006 to sell production of agricultural producers. This decision was made due to increase of prices for agricultural production in Azerbaijan.
