Iran & Azerbaijan sign investment agreement

Iran has signed 12 documents on economic cooperation with Russia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, Head of the International Economic Relations Department of the Iranian Economy Ministry, Sadig Akbari, said, the Iranian FARS news agency reported.

Iran has signed 12 documents on economic cooperation with Russia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, Head of the International Economic Relations Department of the Iranian Economy Ministry, Sadig Akbari, said, the Iranian FARS news agency reported.

These documents were signed at the Commerce Chamber's meeting held in the Gilan province of Iran, Akbari said.

"Iran, as well as neighboring countries, gives priority to economic cooperation with the CIS countries," Akbari added.

According to Akbari, Iran and Azerbaijan signed an investment agreement. "At present, we are holding discussions with Azerbaijan over the exemption from tax and customs duties," Akbari said.

A similar situation exists with Tajikistan. Iran and Russia has already signed a similar document. An investment agreement will be signed at the next meeting of the commission.

In addition, the investment documents on exemption from taxes and customs duties have been signed with Kazakhstan", Akbari said.
