Consumer rights violators fined at about million manat in Azerbaijan

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 550 kilogram of the expired products from retail sale points during the monitoring, the ministry said on Oct.15.

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 550 kilogram of the expired products from retail sale points during the monitoring, the ministry said on Oct.15.

The expired food products include sausages, confectionery products, vegetable oils, natural juices, beer, milk and milk products, soft drinks, and more.

Monitoring carried out in the Binagadi, Yasamal, Nasimi, Sabunchu, Nizami, Binagadi and Surakhani districts of Baku, as well as in the Ganja and Khachmaz regions of Azerbaijan.

Protocols on administrative violations have been complied on enterprises and individuals.

Generally, after the Azerbaijani president's decree on amendments and supplements to the Code of Administrative Violations, dated May 17, 48 enterprises have been fined worth 185,000 manats and 480 individuals - 716,500 manats.

On Oct. 15, the official exchange rate is 0.8029 manat to $1.
