In January to September 2009 the Turkmen public was fulfilled by 113.3 percent and expenditures by 94 percent, which is higher by 23.3 percent and 1.8 percent respectively, compared to the same period of 2008.
In 2009 all sectors of the economy experienced high growth. The good performance was achieved in the field of processing industry, including power generation, construction materials industry, chemical and food industries, the Turkmen statistical agency reported at the last governmental meeting.

According to the finance ministry, as for eight months the average monthly salary in Turkmenistan rose by 11 percent compared to the same period in 2008.
As for Oct. 1, 2009 there are no arrears in the payment of wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships.
