International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) has received an official invitation to attend the biggest annual international conference on Islamic banking 16th World Islamic Banking Conference, IBA said on Oct. 21.
The conference is supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain and a number of international financial institutions, including the Islamic Development Bank, CITI, Gulf Finance House, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, etc. The conference, which will be held on December 6-9, 2009 in the capital city of Manama in Bahrain, will be attended by more than 1,200 delegates from 50 countries worldwide.
International Bank of Azerbaijan will participate in the conference as a privileged sponsor that will allow the bank to provide information about Azerbaijan and talk about the prospects of development of Islamic banking in the country. The bank intends to hold a series of meetings in order to attract financial resources for the development of Islamic banking in Azerbaijan.
