Appeals to central credit registry service of Azerbaijan increase four times

As a result of 9 months of 2009, the Central Credit Registry Service (CCRS) at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan received 44,389 appeals from 37 banks in the country, the head of service Elchin Habibov said on Oct. 28.

"Today, all banks in the country joined the CCRS, but during the first three quarters, appeals were received from 37 banks," said Habibov.

Of the total number of appeals, 35,993 were about new borrowers. Compared with the same period of the last year, this figure rose by 3.8 times. For the nine months of 2008, the number of such appeals was 9,546.

As of October 1, the total number of borrowers in the registry was 647,673, and the total number of information on loans - 1.121 million.
