Uzbekistan plans to bring a share of small business in GDP up to 52.5 percent by 2011, the press-service of the State Committee on Demonopolization said.

Uzbekistan plans to bring a share of small business in GDP up to 52.5 percent by 2011, the press-service of the State Committee on Demonopolization said.

"Taking into account a positive tendency of entrepreneurship development and measures taken to remove barriers hampering development of the business, the State Committee on Demonopolization has prepared special parameters to develop small business for 2010. Its share in GDP is envisaged to be brought up to 52.5 percent in 2010 but in export - up to 18.2 percent," the message said.

According to the antimonopoly agency, as of October 1 about 450,500 facilities of small entrepreneurship have been registered in Uzbekistan. The number of operating facilities increased up to 93.1 percent. Weight of inoperative facilities reduced 1.7 percent up to 31,200 by early 2009. 

Over 32,800 facilities have been established in January-September, including 28.1 percent - trade enterprises and catering, 26.6 percent - agricultural enterprises, 15.7 percent - industrial ones and 10.1 percent - construction enterprises. About 451 enterprises have been established with foreign capital.

Share of small business and private entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan's GDP hit 40.9 percent as a result of nine months of 2009 compared to 40.2 percent for the same period of 2008.
