Over 730 kg of expired products removed from sale in Azerbaijan

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 730 kilogram of the expired products from retail sale points during the monitoring, the ministry said on Nov. 12.

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 730 kilogram of the expired products from retail sale points during the monitoring, the ministry said on Nov. 12.

Monitoring carried out in the Nasimi, Yasamal and Khatai districts of Baku, as well as in the Ganja, Sumgayit and Khachmaz regions of Azerbaijan. The expired food products include sausages, confectionery products, vegetable oils, natural juices, beer, milk and milk products, mayonnaise, and more

Protocols on administrative violations have been complied on enterprises and individuals.

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market recommends consumers to pay attention to expiry dates and labels of products.

Generally, after the Azerbaijani president's decree on amendments and supplements to the Code of Administrative Violations, dated May 17, 57 enterprises have been fined worth 215,100 manats and 585 individuals - 874,300 manats.

On Nov. 12, the official exchange rate is 0.8029 manat to $1.
