Another swine flu patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital today, the Azerbaijani Republican Anti-Plague Station Deputy Director Shair Gurbanov said.

"Only one swine flu patient is continuing treatment at the Azerbaijani Lung Diseases Research Institute," he added.

He said the patient is on the mend and will be discharged next Monday or Tuesday.

Gurbanov said at present the anti-plague station's laboratory continues to test analyzes of those appealing with flu symptoms.

So far, Azerbaijan has reported 14 cases of swine flu. The first cases were revealed in summer.

All medical facilities belonging to the Azerbaijani Health Ministry have upped their security due to the swine flu. The ministry has given instructions to medical personnel around the country to take preventive measures in their institutions and check all persons registered at each local clinic. According to the ministry, active measures are taken in children's clinics, schools and kindergartens.

The WHO has donated 300 million doses of a vaccine against the A/H1N1 virus to 90 countries, including Azerbaijan. The first shipment will be delivered to the country in November. Vaccination will be carried out among people at risk group.
