Red ink in Azerbaijan's foreign trade with CIS countries totals $222mn

In January-October Azerbaijan imported from the CIS countries goods worth $1.54 billion, which makes up 31.22 percent of the total imports of the country, State Customs Committee reported on Nov. 21.

Azerbaijan imported from CIS the grains (11.09 percent of total imports), vehicles (8.16 percent), electrical machinery, equipment and spare parts (9.26 percent), and others.

Exports from Azerbaijan to the CIS countries totaled $1.32 billion (11.46 percent of total exports of the country).

Azerbaijan exported to the CIS countries mainly mineral fuels, petroleum products, bituminous minerals (50.19 percent of total exports), fruits (4.67 percent), animal and vegetable fats (7.58 percent) and others.

The red ink in the import-export operations with the CIS countries totaled $222.76 million.
