A Turkmen-Italian business forum started work in the capital of Italy. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow will take part in the forum.
The prospects of establishing business interaction, including diversification, will be discussed at the event.
"Turkmenistan and Italy have much to offer each other. Today's realities dictate the need to find ways of cooperation to meet common interests," the Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlari state news service reported.
"The dialogue initiated in Ashgabat which demonstrated mutual willingness to establish a full partnership continues in Rome," the Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
The last forum was held in September 2009. A large delegation from Italy consisting of representatives of business circles and governmental bodies attended the forum.
A governmental press service reported that major Italian companies are seeking to expand their presence on the Turkmen market and hope to take part in large-scale projects in Turkmenistan.
