The World Trade Organization (WTO) will examine the mechanisms for the protection of international trade rules in Georgia. The review process will begin today and will last for three days. The Georgian Economic Development said that the facilities that will be reviewed had been defined earlier.

In view of the WTO requirements, the government has decided to equal the taxation of tobacco products on local and the imported tobacco.

According to the Finance Minister, in case of dissatisfaction with this requirement, Georgia was threatened with exclusion from the WTO and the problems in negotiations on free trade with the EU.

Adviser to Prime Minister Tamar Kovziridze will participate in the reviews from Georgia.
