The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) jointly with the Azerbaijani government will hold the final preparation workshop on the national priority framework draft document Dec. 10.

The framework document reflects medium-term priority development areas for joint activity over three years, and has been prepared by all FAO member countries.

The workshop's aim is to coordinate discussions between the sides of the framework agreement draft and reach a consensus on priority sectors to be supported by FAO over the next three years.

Public institutions, namely the Cabinet of Ministers, and agriculture, ecology and natural resources, and economic development ministries, scientific research institutions, donors and international agencies and financial organizations will take part in the workshop.

The framework agreement will reflect issues such as creating a favorable environment for the development of agriculture, cattle breeding, forestry and the fish industry, natural resources management and protection, agricultural products production, improving agricultural infrastructure, strengthening the legislative system and agricultural policy development.

The FAO was established in 1945 to improve nutrition, increase productivity in the agricultural sector, improve the living conditions of the rural population and promote economic growth.
