Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 12 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

The governmental stimulus package gave its fruits, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said.

According to Gilauri, the governmental stimulus package announced earlier this year and plan on the financial incentives released in May gave the result, as Georgia completes the current year only by 4-percent fall in the period of global crisis.

"2009 was quite a challenging year. However, our economy will be reduced only by 4 percent. Naturally, 4-percent fall may not be a good thing. But fall is much more in other countries. For example, based on the IMF estimates, Latvia's economy decreased by 18 percent, Estonia - 17 percent, Russia - 7.5 percent and the EU - 4.2 percent," he said.
