Kazakhstan plans to build a grain terminal on the border with China, KAZ-agro board chairman Asylzhan Mamytbekov said at a republican meeting to develop agro-industrial complex today.
"Taking into account possible transit of Kazakh grain through China to the Pacific market, as well as China's domestic demand for grain increasing annually, it is a new prospective route of Kazakh grain export," Mamytbekov said.
Earlier it was reported about getting a permission to grant the land for construction of the terminal on the border with China. Net weight of Kazakh grain harvest reached record level worth 20 million tons in 2009.
