The Azerbaijani banking sector sees stabilization and growth in the second quarter of 2009, Director of the CBA department on supervision over the activities of credit organizations, Rashad Orujov said

According to Orujov, banks actively attracted funds beginning from the second quarter

"Long-term deposits increased by 20 percent from the beginning of the year, in spite of the reverse process in the world," Orujov said

Azerbaijani banks paid its creditors $900 million and attracted roughly $450 million as new credit lines. At present, the general liquidity of the banking sector makes up about 1.2 billion manat.
