Grain imported to be stored at state grain fund exempted from VAT in Azerbaijan

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan made a decision exempting grain products imported for storage at State Grain Fund from VAT and customs duties in order to cover the grain demand in emergency situations, form public grain storage, and if necessary - to prevent significant price increases in the domestic grain market.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan made a decision exempting grain products imported for storage at State Grain Fund from VAT and customs duties in order to cover the grain demand in emergency situations, form public grain storage, and if necessary - to prevent significant price increases in the domestic grain market.

In this regard, amendments were made to the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers on the rates of customs duties in import-export operations of Azerbaijan and on the list of goods imported into the territory of Azerbaijan, which are exempt from VAT.  

"This decision was made taking into account the proposal of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, agreed with the Ministries of Economic Development, Finance, Taxes, Justice and State Customs Committee," the Cabinet of Ministers said.

The exemptions shall enter into force from the date of signing of orders by the Prime Minister Artur Rasizade - from 22 December.
