Automobile manufacturer Volvo is set to recall a total of 435 vehicles sold in South Korea, a government agency said Monday.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said in a press release that 300 passenger vehicles of the XC60 D5 model produced from May to October this year, and 135 automobiles of the XC90 D5 model made between January 2007 and August 2008 are subject to the recall, Xinhua repoted.

The XC60 D5 models had defective seat belts and damaged fuel pipe covers, while the XC90 D5 models were found to have broken steering wheel parts, the release said.

The recall starts Tuesday at any Volvo-affiliated service centers in the country, the ministry added.

Ford Motors, a U.S. automaker, announced in a statement last week that it's close to finalizing a deal to sell its Swedish luxury brand Volvo to China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, Co.
