The Finance Ministry of Azerbaijan expects forecasts on expenditure of 2009 Public budgets to be fulfilled at 80 percent
"As a result of 2009, we expect the forecasted indicators to be fulfilled at the level of 10 billion manat compared to planned 12,355 billion manat," the ministry said
Failure to execute the expenditure part is expected mainly due to saving costs on the investment programs, but the costs on social items will be fully executed, the officials said
Forecasts on revenues of the public budget total 12,177 billion manat (27.9 percent of the GDP), expenditures -12,355 billion manat (28.3 percent of the GDP) and deficit- 178 million manat (0.4 percent of the GDP)
The Ministry plans to spend roughly 1,353 billion manat of total expenditure on education and 1,205 billion manat on defence and security, including 1,116 billion manat only on defence. The expenditures on social protection total about 1,134 billion manat and expenditures on industry and construction- 4,733 billion manat
On Dec. 28, the official exchange rate is 0.8032 manat to $1.
