Minister voices readiness for overseas projects in Bangladesh

Iranian commerce minister said that his country is prepared to export technical and engineering services to Bangladesh.

The Mehr News Agency quoted Mehdi Ghazanfari as saying in a meeting with the Bangladeshi ambassador to Tehran Khandakar Abdulsatar that Iranian specialists have carried out numerous large projects in 40 counties around the world from Latin America to Central Asia.

He expressed Iran's readiness to implement technical and engineering projects in Bangladesh as well.

Ghazanfari added that he believed that Tehran could provide products in various fields needed by Dhaka, while stressing that efforts should be made to identify areas of mutual cooperation.

He said that relations between the two countries could further improve by opening a joint bank, creating trade routes, deleting double taxation, gaining membership into Asian Development Bank by Iran, taking part in specialized and international exhibitions as well as exchanging various delegations.

Meanwhile, the ambassador noted Iran's expanded cultural activities in his country and called for an increase in trade relations.

Abdulsatar described the cultural, historic and religious commonalities between the two nations as very important and, expressed hope that holding the fifth joint committee meeting between the two countries in four months from now would expedite the expansion of relations.
