The number of migrants registered in Azerbaijan via individual registration system in the Azerbaijani State Fund of the Social Protection increased by 8,000 people, the Ministry reported today
According to the Ministry, the number of registered foreigners increased by 21.5 percent or 1,425 people in 2009 to 8,063 people as of Jan.1 2010
Turkish citizens took the lion share of foreign citizens registered from 87 world countries, making up 4,654 people. The Georgian citizens took the second place with a number of 1,225 people and Russian citizens took the third place with 545 people
The Ministry has also registered citizens from Iran (225 people), India (202 people), China (97 people), Ukraine (75 people), Pakistan (70 people), Great Britain and Northern Ireland Kingdom (85 people), Malaysia (63 people), Kazakhstan (63 people), Uzbekistan (59 people), Turkmenistan (48 people), Germany (53 people), Italy (42 people), and the U.S. (33 people) .
The individual registration is the organization and accounting information on each insured person, to ensure pension and other rights of social protection in accordance with the natonla legislation.
The Azerbaijani President signed a decree on adoption the Individual Registration law in December 2001
