Six tons of expired products removed from sale in west of Azerbaijan in 2009

The Ganja-Gazakh regional department of the State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 5527,6 kilogram of the expired products from about 119 retail sale points during the monitoring in 2009, the mdepartment Head Tabriz Akhundov said.

The Ganja-Gazakh regional department of the  State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 5527,6 kilogram of the expired products from about 119 retail sale points during the monitoring in 2009, the mdepartment Head Tabriz Akhundov said.

"The total amount of the expired food amounted to 28,805 manat," he added. .

According to him, all violators of the consumer rights were fined a total of 159, 617 manat. The minimum amount of fines was 1,500 manat. The acts on violators evading the payment of penalties were sent to the appropriate jurisdiction.

"The department continues to monitor the sale points and study complaints from consumers. In 2009, the regional department has received two complaints from consumers," he added.

Akhundov also said the department has created hot line to protect consumers' rights and every consumer may apply by telephone: 022 55 95 25 and 012 498-15-01.
