Total volume of industrial production increases by 8.6 percent

In 2009, the volume of industrial production hit 22.2 billion manat, which is 8.6 percent higher than the same index in 2008, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

During this period, production volume in the mining industry increased by 12.5 percent to 16.8 billion manat or 75.7 percent of all industrial production.

Crude oil production increased by 13.5 percent to 50.4 million tons and natural gas production decreased by 0.1 percent hit 16.3 billion cubic meters in this period  

Share of non-state sector hit 4/5 of all industry production in 2009

Total manufacturing industry production hit 4.2 billion manat. The Committee also observed huge growth in food production. Sugar production increased by 16.5 percent to 314.900 tons, tea production by 8.4 percent to 7.700 tons, meat by 2.8 percent to 159.500 tons, milk by 3 percent to 61.7 million dal, butter by 0.9 percent to 14.200 tons, champagne by 13.4 percent to 40.600 dal, beer by 12.3 percent to 3.6 million dal, vodka by 12.4 percent to 841.800 dal
