The Israeli company Shebamedical Center and the Canadian Interhealth expressed their desire to buy the Tbilisi Republican Hospital, which is wholly owned by the state, the Georgian Economy Ministry reported today.
The Shebamedical Center is a national medical clinic in Israel. The center has six complexes and its annual turnover is $320 million.
Interhealth was established in 1994 and specializes in infrastructure and health projects.
The hospital's privatization was announced in November 2009. The investor will have to create a multidisciplinary medical center for 430 spots. The hospital's assets are $20 million.
