Iran will begin the construction a the second bridge at the Astara customs point bordering
Azerbaijan in March 2010, Iribnews reported.
The bridge will be built across the Astara River, stretching 60 meters. A three-lane road designed for pedestrian traffic, trains and automobiles also will be constructed. The provincial budget allocated $6 million for construction.
The existing bridge was built 60 years ago.
