Statistics Committee: Uzbekistan produces industrial production for 29 trillion sums in 2009

In 2009 Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 28.9 trillion sums, or more by 9 percent compared to 2008, the State Statistics Committee said.

Production of consumer goods grew by 13.9 percent in the total amount of industrial products to 31.5 percent.

According to the State Statistic Committee, share of the electricity field in the total industrial production made up 8.9 percent compared to 8.6 percent in 2008, fuel 21.5 percent (20.1 percent), ferrous metallurgy 2.4 percent (2.9 percent), non-ferrous metallurgy 11.7 percent (12.6 percent), chemical and petrochemical industry 4.7 percent (5.0 percent), machine building and metal working 16.2 percent (16.2 percent), woodworking and pulp and paper industry 1.1 percent (0.8 percent), construction materials 4.7 percent (4.9 percent), light industry by 12.2 percent (12.9 percent), food industry 11.2 percent (10.6 percent), other fields 5.4 percent, or the same in 2008.

Last year Uzbekistan produced 50 billion KW per hour of electricity (down by 0.3 percent compared to 2008), 18.7 million Gcal of thermal energy (down by 6.8 percent), 4.5 million tons of oil and gas condensate (down by 7.3 percent), 1.622 million tons of petrol (rise by 10.8 percent), 1.302 million tons of diesel fuel (rise by 1.2 percent), 498,600 tons of fuel oil (down by 7.6 percent), 405,700 tons of kerosene (rise by 12.2 percent), 278,500 tons of lubricants (rise by 6.6 percent), 246,100 tons of liquefied gas (down by 0.7 percent), Natural gas production reached 61.408 billion cubic meters (down by 3.8 percent).

Last year the country produced 731,700 tons of steel (with a rise of 6.7 percent) and 687,100 tons of ready made rolled metal (with a rise of 6.9 percent).

In the chemical and petrochemical industry production of synthetic ammonia reduced by 1.2 percent to 1.265 million tons, while production of mineral fertilizers rose by 0.8 percent to 1.073 million, carbamide by 11.3 percent to 512,800 tons, means to protect planting by 2.4 times to 4,120 tons, sulfuric acid by 3.2 percent to 954,600 tons, fibre and chemicals by 7.5 percent to 13,595 tons, roast by 8.2 percent to 76,800 tons.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2009 enterprises manufactured 205,011 cars (with an increase of 5.1 percent), 722 trucks (with an increased of 62.6 percent), 1,317 buses (drop by 15.4 percent), spare parts to automobiles in the total amount of 177.315 billion sums (a rise by 3.6 percent), 2,737 tractors (with an increase of 12.3 percent), 1,852 cultivators (with an increase of 4.5 percent), 17,421 refrigerators and freezers (rise by 2.8 times).

In the field of construction materials the production of cement rose by 3.1 percent to 6.853 million tons, asbestos sheets by 8.2 percent to 469.6 million conditional tablets, assembled concrete structures by 6.7 percent to 145,400 cubic meters of products, production of window glass in two millimeters calculation dropped by 17.3 percent to 10.267 million square meters.

The light industry enterprises of Uzbekistan reduced production of cotton fibers by 10.1 percent to 1.055 million tons, cotton seeds by 13.3 percent to 1.579 million tons, knitwork by 1.1 percent to 33.968 million pieces, carpets and carpets products by 4.8 percent to 2.36 million square meters.

Production of floss yarns increased by 0.3 percent to 271,400 tons, cotton yarns by 0.7 percent to  145,500 tons, knitted linen by 8 percent to 11,251,000 tons.

According to the Statistics Committee, in 2009 the food industry manufactured 20,800 tons of milk and diary products (a rise by 3.5 percent), 275,100 tons of sugar (by 8.2 percent), 223,300 tons of vegetable oil (dropped by 24.6 percent), 1.27 million tons of flour (drop by 10.7 percent).

In 2009 the country produced 9.435 million dal vodka and alcoholic beverage products with an increase of 11.8 percent, 2.107 million dal of wine with a drop of 3.1 percent, 18.112 million dals of beer with an increase of 11.9 percent, 12.747 million cigarettes and papyruses with a rise of 14.8 percent.

Industrial growth in Uzbekistan in 2009 was forecasted at 9.3 percent. In 2010 the government plans to facilitate growth of industrial production in the volume of 8.3 percent compared to 2009.
