Following the results of 2009, investments from all sources of financing in the economy of Turkmenistan made up 24.943.8 million manats, an increase by 60.7 percent compared to 2008.
The Statistical Report of Turkmenistan reads that in 2009, ministries and agencies of the country explored investments in the amount of 17.376.4 million manat (69.7 percent of total investments), up 1.9 times from 2008.
In 2009, economic subjects operational in the territory of Turkmenistan carried out contracted construction-erection and other capital work and services in the amount of 10.328.3 million manat, an increase by 2.3 times compared to 2008.
Following the results of 2009, Turkmenistan's gross industrial output amounted to over 31 billion manat in current prices. Medium- and large-sized industrial enterprises (the main industry) contributed greatly to an increase of the value of industrial output. The extractive sector keeps the biggest share in the main industry's gross output.
Among main manufacturing industries, a high growth of the value of produces in the reported period was observed in power engineering, chemical industry, machine-building and metal processing, production of building materials, fishing, and polygraphic industry.
In 2009, a substantial growth of physical volume of production was observed in definite types of industrial production. As compared to 2008, the production of non-ore building materials increased by 26.5 percent, the production of elements of concrete building constructions increased by 19.4 percent, the production of cereals increased by 22.5 percent, the production of nitric fertilizers increased by 10.9 percent, and the production of butter increased by 12.5 percent. Physical production of a number of other kinds of industrial produces increased as well.
