Base consumer price index increases 1 percent in Azerbaijan per year

Prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services increased by 1,1 percent in February 2010 compared to the previous month, prices, but in January and February compared to the corresponding period of 2009 - by 2,8 percent, the State Committee on Statistics said today.

Food prices have risen by 2.2 percent in February, prices for non-food products remained unchanged. The tariffs on services were reduced by 0.8 percent.

Food prices increased by 0.7 percent, non-food - by 1.5 percent, tariffs for services - 8.8 percent compared to January-February 2009.

In February, the base consumer price index, subjected to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables), and prices that are regulated by the state, hit 100.3 percent compared to the previous month and 101,0 percent for the year compared to January-February 2009.
