The Azerbaijan Association of Risk Professionals (ARPA) introduced a new product - a course of workshops on management of legal risks, ARPA said. This new project is supported by the Azerbaijan Corporate Governance Project of the International Finance Corporation.
The first workshop, held within this project was devoted to the management of legal risk in banks. Lawyers, risk managers of 20 banks - members of the association, consulting companies, representatives of state organizations.
The need for workshops in this area was stressed because it is new for Azerbaijan. The first presentation within a series of workshops was held by Bank of Baku legal department head, ARPA expert Gorhamaz Agayev.

The next workshop will be held in April.
The Association of Risk Professionals was registered in mid-May 2009. Today, the institutional establishment of ARPA continues. Establishment of the association will affect the reduction of risks in the financial sector of the country. The Association has already started cooperation with the Central Bank and GARP (Global Association of risk Professionals).
