Average monthly salary increases by 2.1 percent in Azerbaijan

In January-February 2010, the average monthly salary in Azerbaijan amounted to 298.2 manat, or 2.1-percent higher than for the same period in 2009, the State Statistics Committee reported.

The highest salaries were in the extractive industries in financial services, and the construction, IT and telecommunications sectors.

Employees at enterprises and organizations have received social values benefits of 10 million manat. Employees in the extractive, energy production and distribution, gas and water, processing, transport and communications industries received the most benefits.

In January-February, the nominal income per capita was 360.2 manat, which exceeds the figure for the same period in 2009 by 3.1 percent. The real cash income per capita amounted to 320.4 manat with a growth of 3.5 percent.

During the report period, Azerbaijan's nominal monetary incomes amounted to 3.201 billion manat, which is 4.3-percent higher than the same period in 2009. The real money incomes of the population during this period reached 2.846 billion manat with a growth of 3.5 percent.
