Azerbaijan’s trade turnover amounts to roughly $4bn in Jan-Feb

Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) announced the results of foreign trade with 105 countries of the world in January-February, the State Customs Committee said today. The total trade turnover of the country amounted to 3.9 billion dollars. The black ink amounted to more than 2.5 billion dollars in foreign-trade operations.

In total, 2,700 legal and physical entities participated in the foreign trade operations in January-February. About 1,814 of which are legal entities and 886 - physical entities.

In January-February Azerbaijan increased the export of goods by 15.54 percent or $1.72 billion and amounted to $3.2 billion compared to the same period of 2009. The share of public sector in export made up $3 bln (92.55 %), private sector held $230.5 mln (7.17 %). The share of export operations by physical entities comprised $9.2 mln (about 0.28 %). 

In January-February Azerbaijan decreased the import of goods by 23.84 percent or $220.2 million and amounted to $0,704 billion compared to the same period of 2009. The share of public sector in import made up $201 mln (28.57 %), private sector held $455.8 mln (64.77 %). The share of export operations by physical entities comprised $47 mln (about 6.7 %). 

During this period, the country exported 795 types and imported 3,521types of commodities.
