Azerbaijan and Belarus are expected to sign a number of intergovernmental agreements during Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's Baku visit to be held in the first half of 2010, Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Patskevitch said at the news conference today.
"To date, Azerbaijan and Belarus formed the legal base of over 50 bilateral agreements that regulate the activity of the Azerbaijani and Belarusian enterprises," he said. "But we believe that this is not enough, so about 20 documents are still under development."
Patskevitch said about 10 agreements that are under development will be submitted for signing during Lukashenko's Baku visit.
"Today, the departments have already agreed on the draft agreement on mutual protection of investments, which will help resolve liquid investments between," Patskevitch said
The sixth meeting of Azerbaijan-Belarus intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation is expected to be held on the eve of Lukashenko's Baku visit. The intergovernmental Commission was established in 2004.
