Hand-woven carpet exports increase
Iran's hand-woven carpet exports increased in both value and volume in the calendar month of Farvardin (March 21 to April 20) in comparison to the same month last year.
ISNA news agency cited statistics published by the Iranian Customs Administration reporting that the value of exported carpets reached $13.8 million in Farvardin month this year from $12.3 million last year.
The weight of the carpets was 184 tons in the month this year while it was 168 tons last year, the report stated.
These numbers show about 12 percent and some 9 percent increase in value and in volume, respectively.
Meanwhile, last year's exports of hand-woven carpets was 16 percent more in value and 2 percent more in weight compared to the year before.
