Azerbaijani banks' total assets increase by 3 percent in early 2010

Total assets of Azerbaijani banks as of May 1, 2010 amounted to 12.04 billion manat, which is 0.07 percent more compared to early April, and 3.2 percent - at the beginning of the year, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said.

Banks' investments amounted to 882.13 million manat, increased in April by 3.1 percent, loans given to customers - 8,121.69 million manat (1,5 percent). The volume of loans and deposits issued by the financial sector amounted to 532.78 million manat, reducing by one percent. Funds on correspondent accounts for the period amounted 786.9 million manat, reducing by 26.2 percent. Cash of Azerbaijani banks May 1, 2010 amounted to 673.14 million manat, increased by 15 percent.

Total liabilities of Azerbaijani banks May 1, 2010 amounted to 10.012 billion manat, reducing by 0.2 percent in April. About 4,419.26 million manat falls to deposits, and 4,893.22 million manat - loans and deposits received from the financial market.
