Tbilisi opens Georgian-Swedish business forum
Tbilisi opened a Georgian-Swedish business forum on exporting goods to Sweden today.
Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Zurab Alavidze, Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania and Swedish Foreign Ministry Trade Service General Director Anders Anlid attended the event.
The Swedish delegation includes representatives of governmental departments, as well as experts engaged in trade issues who earlier held a workshop on "Exports to Sweden" for Georgian companies.
The Swedish delegation shared their experiences in various spheres of the economy and discussed export rules and regulations in Sweden and the EU.
"Georgia has a simplified trade regime with Europe and preferences are set on a range of products. This is what we have to explain to Georgia's businesses and provide them with detailed information. We must also explain how businesses can easily overcome non-tariff barriers in Europe on product quality and sanitary requirements," Alavidze said.
The Swedish delegation's visit to Georgia was realized with the support of the National Investment Agency, Georgia's Embassy in Sweden, and the Swedish Trade Council.
The visit will last two days.
