Some 67.7 percent of insured persons use the services for auto insurance in Azerbaijan, said in the report of the Business Insight International Research Group on the results of its poll.
According to the organization, 13.5 percent of the insured peoples use the services of life insurance, 12.2 percent - health insurance, 12.2 percent - property insurance, 1.4 percent - social insurance and 0.7 percent - liability insurance.
According to the survey, 79.8 percent of respondents said they did not use the services of insurance and only 20.2 percent (1 / 5) have reported on the contrary.
Last year the insurance market of the country experienced a period of stagnation due to the global financial crisis, which is mainly reflected in the Non-life, in particular, in the auto insurance. But despite this, it should be noted that the engine of the country's insurance market is auto insurance, which is also mainly due to the fact that banks do not issue auto loans without insurance, the organization's experts say.
Market research showed that life insurance in Azerbaijan today is not at the proper level (13,5 percent) and health insurance, are mostly used by corporate clients.
According to estimates of the experts, time is needed for the proper development of the Azerbaijani insurance market, as well as its compliance with markets of the leading European countries and important element in this direction should be enlightenment of the public about the importance of voluntary insurance.
The organization's experts also estimated that the average age of the insured is 35-59 year-old and 60 percent of insured persons - are men. Insurance services in Azerbaijan are used by persons with a total income of over 1,500 manat, Business Insight International Research Group's experts say.
